Waris Notes
Pre-School:  Mondays they select a library book to take back to the classroom.  We read many of their books in the time allotted.  On Wednesdays new books are introduced and read.  A fun singing tape can be included.  Thursdays and Fridays are the same with all emphasis on reading and having fun.

Kindergarten:   The children come three times a week.  The first time they return and check out new books and we read as many of their books as time allows.  The second and third times consists of 20 min. each so we read a book pertaining to a subject they are studying in the classroom and have a worksheet  to go with it.

First grade:  The children come two times a week.  The first time they return and check out new books and we read as many of their books as time allows.  The second time we enjoy reading new books and a worksheet pertaining to a subject they are studying will be given during library time.

Second grade:  The children come one time a week.  They return and check out new books.  They are introduced to the wide variety of books of the entire library.  Library skills worksheets are given and graded accordingly each week.  Media skills and concepts are instructed.

Third Grade:  The children come one time a week.  They return and check out new books.  We use an atlas and discuss and read a loud many interesting facts about the countries of the world.  We also use a Storyworks magazine which gives the children current events and many non-fiction stories to read.
