6th Grade Reading and English

This first week involves setting up preparations for student success. We are beginning the year by carefully looking through our agendas and textbooks. The agendas are packed with so many useful tools and information that will come in handy throughout the year. I encourage parents to look through them with their students as well. We are also getting overviews of the English and Reading books so that students will be easily able to locate information.

Vocabulary Routine

Our scheduled vocabulary days are Days 3 and 6. This means that we will begin our studies on Monday, August 25th.

About Us
STM is a Catholic elementary school for grades K-8. It is located in South Kansas City, Missouri, in a quiet residential area. The yearly enrollment is approximately 650. The class size is a maximum of 26 students. Students are encouraged to achieve their best and to participate in community service.

Helpful Hint

Students need to review their agendas every evening to make certain they have completed the tasks assigned to them.

As students finish their assignments, they should be placing them into their accordion folders or binders/pocket folders in the section marked for that particular subject.

Uniforms

Sometimes our classrooms can get very chilly. If your student is one who gets cold easily, please have him or her bring a uniform sweatshirt or uniform fleece to school to wear in the classroom. We want the students to be comfortable!
