At a Glance:
Math: We are continuing multiplication. Students should be working on
all their facts. We will be moving on to division
and 2 digit multiplication.
Reading: We have finished a unit on
Trickster tales and are now working with Incredible
stories, a group of fantasy stories. We
will continue working with different reading strategies
like inferring,
predicting, and basic comprehension of details. We will continue
poetry throughout the year.
We have also started a reading
response journal. This will be done in class and
will be due each week on the same day for each student.
Every student has an assigned day. This will help
us look at books critically by asking questions, making
predictions, making connections, and analyzing the
writing craft
Writing: We will be writing a story
part story. Each student received a different
character, setting, and event. They will make
these three things into a story. Along with the
final draft, students will need to also turn in the
graphic organizers they were given for prewriting.
Religion: We are discussing the death
and resurrection of Jesus. We are coupling this
with a study of Lent and meditation. We will be
saying a decade of the rosary every Friday as a class.
